Our latest custom home in Wilmette provides both style and function for a professional couple with young children moving North from the city. Anticipating a busy lifestyle with professional, school and activity schedules to maintain, we used our expertise to help our client get the amenities they wanted in a new home, along with the proper rooms and flow to make the house comfortable and accommodating for many years to come.
The two-story, stone and cedar house features a traditional design of approximately 3,500 square feet. A deep, covered front porch and blue stone front and rear hardscapes provide the ultimate in outdoor living areas. The circular first floor plan is open to accommodate most of the family's daily activities. A mudroom outfitted with organizational cubbies will help to keep outdoor clothes, shoes and boots in order. The spacious kitchen features a large island, breakfast area and Mom’s desk. Finishes include white painted, wood cabinets, marble countertops and commercial grade appliances for the best in quality and functionality. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the family room and French doors in the breakfast room connect the outdoor and indoor living areas.
The second floor features four bedrooms including the master with balcony overlooking the backyard; huge walk-in closet; and bathroom with oversized shower, soaking tub and private commode. Two additional full baths serve the other three family bedrooms and second-floor office. A second-floor laundry room features two washers and two dryers for convenience.
